Dishes & Dust Bunnies

Random thought of the day.

Living a fulfilling life is a life time journey with so many possibilities, so many questions and answers, and so much to live for. I am determined to live it to the fullest with grace, faith, compassion, drive, hope, honesty, perseverance, and love, for what is a life without these things?

Little Leon is napping and here I am writing once more. I have realized these may be the only moments in my day that I can write. The life of a stay at home mom is a busy one, especially for myself. I expect a lot from myself, and I feel I must accomplish at least one thing each day otherwise I feel like a failure. Right now I am looking at a rather large pile of laundry that needs to be folded and hung up in the closet. And of course there is the endless amount of dishes in the sink. It is an understatement to say I took having a dish washer for granted in the past. Washing all the dishes by hand, including many baby bottles, gets old fast, not to mention it is very time consuming. It would probably also be a good idea to vacuum the house, dust bunnies congregate fast in a house with hard wood floors. Why I put these things off, I do not know. I am a master procrastinator and I have unfinished projects all over the house. Last week I took on the task of going through all of Leon's clothes, removing all those he has grown out of, and finding all that fit him currently. Now I just need to fold his clothes and put them in the dresser, but there they sit in a pile on the nursery floor. Yet another unfinished project. My to do list is a long one, and I have about an hour until my son wakes up from his evening nap.

Later that evening: 11:55pm

Well here I am with some time for myself before I go to sleep. The laundry is finished, the house is clean for the most part, baby is bathed and in bed, but the dishes will have to wait until tomorrow. This mama is tired. Good night and good morning! :)

To Do's/Goals for the coming day:

~Wash the dishes
~Finish the baby clothes project
~Pay bills
~Bake pumpkin bread :)
~Spend the day with my husband (It is his day off, yay!) and baby Leon of course!
~Thank God for blessing my life so greatly

The purest love
My baby, sweet joy
A gift from God

  1. In all that you do for others, make sure you do for yourself too. The occasional cup of coffee with a friend, long hot bath, buying something (even small) for yourself, or even a walk alone helps to keep you vibrant and fresh. I am not saying that the things you do now are less important; however, you are important too. The first rule on an airplane is to put your oxygen mask on first before helping others. The reason is clear, you are no good to anyone if you are unconscious. I only say this as a loving and gentle reminder from one who was there at one time. Laundry can wait, Leon is little for such a short time. I love you girl.
